our vision
We're committed to providing a holistic approach to resettlement. We aim to raise self-awareness and build self-confidence in turn equipping our clients with the basic life skills they require to live a complete and fulfilling life.
To empower our clients to improve themselves as holistic beings by assisting them in making transitions at the vital stage of supported living to independence.
About Us
In 2018 a group of like -minded individuals made it their mission to set up a supported accommodation programme. Having worked within the field collectively for 25 years plus, the team at Safe Roots Housing identified gaps in housing service provision for those marginalised in society, including ex-offenders, those suffering with mental health and individuals who have issues with substance misuse.
Safe Roots Housing works with communities and individuals to provide safe environments that can be used as a platform to build positive futures. We believe every person deserves a chance at life. We offer direction, guidance and support to secure appropriate accommodation, gain skills to live independently and the confidence to enter further education/training, with a view to securing employment and/or volunteering opportunities.

Our diverse team of professionals are passionate about providing clients with the stability and support they need to acquire new skills and patterns of behaviour to turn their lives around. Working on the ground, we have substantial experience of providing supported housing and resettlement services to offenders direct from prison, those on community sentences, and those at risk of offending.

Colleagues work with each individual on tailored support plans to address their needs and help them to combat issues with homelessness, budgeting, substance use, offending behaviour, social inclusion, sexual health, personal safety and independence.

We also help people to identify and access appropriate move-on accommodation and offer resettlement advice to offenders.

Providing supported accommodation for adults aged 18 and over, with no age limit, we set up a community interest company and currently have nine properties across the Nottingham City and Nottingham County areas, with the capacity to house up to 55 individuals at any one time. This number is ever increasing as we expand our services across Nottinghamshire. We have both mixed and single-sex accommodation and all referrals are subject to an assessment and matching process before being placed, to ensure that all our clients are suited to sharing accommodation where needed.

Our supported accommodation criteria is inclusive of service users that are marginalised in society and therefore to be eligible for housing with us, service users will have to demonstrate that they are experiencing at least three out of the following four complex needs;

- Homelessness;
- Substance misuse;
- Mental health; and
- Current or past involvement with the criminal justice system.
